SBG NorCal Jiu Jitsu & Mixed Martial Arts

SBG NorCal is located at 1450 San Pablo Avenue in Berkeley, California. Part of the martial arts community and a member of Straight Blast Gym International since 2003, the academy operates under the motto Function Not Fantasy since 2003. The school is organized as a non-profit under Martial Arts Training and Scholarship, a 501.c.3 organization. All coaches graduate from a year-long coach's course and serve as volunteers, including coach Kirk Fong, who has coached since 1985 and was awarded a BJJ black belt by Coach Lily in 2022. Classes and coaching accommodate all ages and levels in mixed martial arts (MMA), kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, functional fitness, Boxing BootCamp, and conditioning. Youth martial arts offerings include Sticky Monkey for ages 3-5, Explorers Jiu-Jitsu for ages 4-12, and Tween/Teen Jiu-Jitsu for ages 11-17. New visitors can participate in a 10-day guest trial.
