Seymour Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy

Seymour Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy operates at 10341 Chapman Hwy #2 in Seymour, Tennessee. Established in 2017, the academy provides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction for beginners, families, and tournament competitors across Seymour and the Knoxville area. The academy is owned and directed by head instructor and founder Jon Dysert, a second-degree black belt who began training in 2008 and has been coaching since 2012. Coach Jon remains an active competitor at the IBJJF black belt level. The coaching staff also features instructor Kirck, a purple belt who leads adult no-gi and youth classes. Training prioritizes leverage, situational escapes, positional control, and controlled live sparring. The school organizes programs tailored for each developmental stage. Youth tracks include Tiny Champs (Ages 4 & 5), Little Champs (Ages 6–8), Youth Champs (Ages 9–14), and a Homeschool Program (Ages 6–14). Adult practitioners train in gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes organized for Ages 15+.
