Sharkbait's MMA & Jiu Jitsu Academy delivers martial arts education, mixed martial arts training, and grappling instruction at 1751 NW Burdett Crossing in Blue Springs, Missouri. Operating a judgment-free facility for students across the Kansas City metropolitan area, the academy emphasizes family community, technical development, and mutual support on the mats. The academy is owned and directed by head coach Anthony "Sharkbait" Gutierrez, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt with an amateur MMA record of 17-3 and a professional record of 13-3. Gi jiu-jitsu classes are coached by Anthony Bell, an IBJJF and USBJJF certified First Degree Black Belt under Renato Tavares with nearly two decades of grappling experience across the Kansas City area and multiple IBJJF International Open championship titles. Training schedules feature comprehensive adult and youth programs throughout the morning and evening. Course offerings include Jiu Jitsu, No Gi Jiu Jitsu, Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals, Kickboxing, MMA, Kids Jiu Jitsu, Kids MMA, and open mat sessions, allowing students to build self-defense capability, physical fitness, and competition grappling skills.
