Shorty's BJJ is a martial arts training community operating in Philadelphia. Founded in 2020 as Shorty's Jiu Jitsu, the academy provides Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instruction for youth, adult beginners, and experienced competitors. The academy is owned and instructed by Prof. Mike Short, a black belt who received his rank from JT Torres in March of 2022. Instruction is supported by Masters Program instructor Prof. Andy Maroulis, who holds a black belt, alongside Beginners class instructor Coach Dave Gaardsmoe and Kids class instructor Coach Nasier Boyer. Course offerings encompass an Intro Class, an All Levels adult group program, a Comp class, and a dedicated Kids jiu jitsu class. The facility also features a specialized Masters program tailored for adults aged 30 and above, meeting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5pm to 6pm. The gym provides a starter promotion of $30 for 30 days for new students joining the beginner program.
