Sinistro Gentle Arts Jiu-Jitsu

Gentle Arts Jiu Jitsu is situated at 229 N El Camino Real in Encinitas, California. The academy features instruction under Francisco Iturralde, who earned the moniker Sinistro from coach Fernando di Piero. Iturralde traces his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lineage through Mitsuyo Maeda, Carlos Gracie, Helio Gracie, Rolls Gracie, Romero Cavalcanti, Fábio Gurgel, and Fernando Di Piero. His competitive achievements include winning the 2013 IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship and the 2014 European International Championship. The adult curriculum provides structured training pathways across beginner, all-levels, and advanced tiers. The Jiu Jitsu Basics class introduces fundamental movements and defensive principles under black belt instruction without submission risks. All-Levels classes incorporate drilling, cooperative partner work, and positional sparring, while advanced classes welcome blue belts and higher ranks for fast-paced technical study and sparring. Youth training is organized into specific age divisions: Toddlers for ages three to four, Kids 1 for ages five to seven, Kids 2 for ages eight to eleven, and Teens for ages twelve to fourteen. Classes develop movement coordination, confidence, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu technique through group exercises, educational games, and live training.
