SKN Muay Thai Academy

SKN Muay Thai Academy is a dedicated striking school located on the second floor of 6595 Hamilton Ave in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The academy provides authentic Thai boxing education and athletic conditioning for students across Pittsburgh and neighboring communities. The facility is co-owned and operated by head coaches Marissa Barr-Hartman and Chris Merritt. Barr-Hartman began training in martial arts as a child before studying Western boxing and Muay Thai in Thailand at camps including Jaroonsak and FA Group, holding a master's degree and a personal trainer certification. Merritt has competed since 2015 under Kru David Reese, trained with Thai champions such as Yothin FA Group, and holds a boxing pad holder certification under Coach Iran 'Padman' McGriff. The curriculum encompasses teen and adult Muay Thai, intermediate sparring drills, and the Little Nak Muays children's program. Training focuses on elbow strikes, roundhouse kicks, knee maneuvers, and active clinching in a disciplined training environment. Prospective students can register for a one-week trial program to experience the curriculum firsthand.
