T-Town MMA/Checkmat Tacoma

T-Town MMA operates at 955 Tacoma Ave S, Tacoma, WA 98402. New participants can explore academy offerings with a free 2 Day trial before enrolling in ongoing memberships. The school was founded in 2006 by Jimmy Thompson, Head Coach/Third Degree Black Belt, who received his rank from Professor Leandro Vieira. Instructional leaders include Ginger Jackson, Head Kid's Coach and BJJ Brown Belt, alongside Rose Singer, Director of Women's Program. The staff also includes First Degree Black Belt instructors Justin Palanka and Jesse McLaughlin, Muay Thai & Boxing Coach Elliot Edmunds, Wrestling & BJJ Coach Sean Pollock, and Muay Thai Coach Nicole Gan. Scheduled training incorporates BJJ Gi, BJJ No-Gi, Kickboxing/Muay Thai, MMA, Wrestling/No-Gi, and Open Mat sessions. Dedicated demographic classes feature Kid's BJJ, Women's BJJ Gi, and Women's BJJ No-Gi.
