Tae Ryong Taekwondo School Santa Monica is a traditional Korean martial arts academy located at 2521 17th St in Santa Monica, California, adjacent to Ocean Park Ave. The school belongs to the martial arts organization founded in 1982 by Grand Master Yong Shin. Instruction at the Santa Monica studio is led by Master Nickie Quan, a 7th Dan black belt who has trained under Grand Master Shin for more than three decades, alongside Master Cecilia Nguyen, a 4th Dan instructor. Training centers on traditional Olympic Taekwondo, character development, situational awareness, and technical sparring. Curriculum offerings include Little Dragons for children ages 4 to 6, youth classes for ages 7 to 12, family sessions, and comprehensive adult training. The dojo provides structured martial arts instruction designed to foster discipline, focus, and physical fitness for practitioners across all skill levels. Prospective students and local families can register online for an introductory complimentary first class trial.
