The Best Wrestler

The Best Wrestler delivers wrestling coaching, youth athletic development, and technical camps at 5 Arena Way in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The training facility serves youth athletes, high school competitors, and aspiring collegiate wrestlers from across southwest Iowa and neighboring communities. The academy was founded by Bulgarian-born 2016 Olympian Georgi Ivanov, whose father, five-time Bulgarian national champion Coach Ivan Delchev Ivanov, has developed multiple Olympians; instruction follows an Olympian-developed training curriculum. The coaching roster also features certified coach Jesse Portillo, a four-time district champion from El Paso, Texas, alongside certified wrestling instructors focusing on technique, mental discipline, and sportsmanship. Programs encompass year-round wrestling instruction, Future Olympians youth development tracks, intensive skills clinics, and competitive camps. Training sessions guide athletes through takedowns, escapes, hand fighting, and mat positioning, supported by individual skills assessments for incoming wrestlers.
