The Coop BJJ

The Coop BJJ is located at 10131 National Blvd. Suite C in Los Angeles, California, situated near the intersection of Interstate 10 and Interstate 405. Founded by David Telfer and Alex Chow, black belts under Giva Santana, the facility operates as the first Brazilian jiu-jitsu co-op in the world. Operating under an ego-free philosophy, thirty-plus black belts lead daily workshops as their contribution, while membership fees cover room expenses so every member shapes the place they train. Promoted belts require approval from three Coop black belts. Members enjoy 24/7 access to the gym unless a class is taking place at that time. The schedule incorporates both gi and nogi training across 30-minute technique workshops and open mats. Prospective grapplers can sign the waiver to attend two free trial classes.
