The Jiu-Jitsu League

The Jiu-Jitsu League operates at 6376 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Suite A in Long Beach, California, located on the lower level of the Marina Pacifica shopping center. Established in 2009, the academy provides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction for youth and adult practitioners. The school is led by third-degree black belt and head instructor Kevin Howell, author of the martial arts book Jiu-Jitsu University. The coaching staff also features first-degree black belt Haley Howell, black belt Juan Arreguin, black belt Paul Poompan, and brown belt Steve Rodriguez, who directs the youth program. Classes include kids training, adult gi classes, and a Basics No-gi program designed to break down foundational principles in a disciplined setting. Out-of-town visitors are welcomed by appointment, and prospective local students can schedule a free introductory class online.
