Triangle Academy of Jiu-Jitsu

Triangle Academy of Jiu-Jitsu opened on October 1, 2018, in Franklin, Tennessee, under the direction of Owner and Head Coach Clay Mayfield. Mayfield began training under Royce Gracie in 2008, competed with Pedigo Submission Fighting, reached the number-one IBJJF brown belt ranking worldwide, and was awarded his black belt by Heath Pedigo in October 2021. Adult Coach and Varsity Director Blake Brown brings high-level wrestling experience and an IBJJF Gi World Championship title to the coaching staff. The academy provides comprehensive training paths including Adult Jiu-Jitsu, Kids Jiu-Jitsu, striking-focused kickboxing, and the competitive Triangle Varsity Team. Daily instruction covers gi and no-gi grappling techniques, takedowns, guard retention, sweeps, and submission transitions designed for both practical self-defense and tournament success. Classes maintain a disciplined and supportive atmosphere accommodating hobbyists, working professionals, and dedicated tournament competitors.
