Tutaj Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Tutaj Brazilian Jiu Jitsu delivers grappling instruction and martial arts self-defense at 1770 S Harlem Ave in North Riverside, Illinois. Originally established in 2011 in Forest Park, the academy now operates within the CFX facility in North Riverside, serving adult and youth practitioners from Chicago and western suburban communities. Instruction is directed by Owner and Head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor Jon Tutaj. Professor Tutaj is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with fourteen years of coaching and teaching experience at Tutaj BJJ. Classes focus on positional leverage, guard retention, defensive posture, and submission escapes, teaching students to control opposing momentum through technique rather than physical strength. Academy offerings feature adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes, technique drilling, and structured youth programs. Kids classes serve students starting at age 7 up to approximately 14 to 16 years old. Instruction is organized on a month-to-month basis with no long-term contracts required, supported by introductory trial classes.
