Underworld BJJ

Underworld BJJ provides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction and community athletic training at 810 H St NE in Washington, DC. Based in the H Street corridor, the gym conducts daily training sessions spanning early morning, noon, and evening slots, complete with complimentary introductory trial classes. The instructional team is headed by brown belt Danielle Gallo, who captured adult purple belt gold medals at both the 2025 No-Gi World Championships and 2024 No-Gi Pan American Championships. Adult and youth classes are co-directed by purple belt Aidan Oates. The black belt coaching roster includes Alfredo Atencio, who earned his rank under Jen Zanotti and Jay Ferrari, Graham Burkhalter, who received his black belt under Roan Jucao Carneiro, and Dave Boafo, who holds a black belt awarded by Diego Bispo with grappling experience dating back to 1999. Programs feature adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, youth classes for ages four through sixteen, and monthly women's-only open mats. Standard ninety-minute classes pair technical drilling with thirty minutes of live sparring.
