Urban Kombat is a tactical martial arts and reality-based self-defense school based in Los Angeles, California. The training center brings over 35 years of martial arts, military, and defensive tactics experience to provide combative skills for civilians and security personnel. The academy is directed by chief instructor Duane Walden alongside certified instructor Frank Rodriguez. Training focuses on practical street defense, drawing heavily from Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do infighting methods, trapping concepts, energy drills, and street grappling tactics. The curriculum also features specialized instruction in Rapid Assault Tactics, tiered threat response procedures, and The Art of Striking Steel edged weapons defensive training. Weekly group training classes take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with modular weekend seminars scheduled by appointment.
