Valhalla Martial Arts, Kickboxing and Fitness is located in Downtown Santa Barbara, California, across from the MTD bus hub. Founded in 1995 by Sifu Michael Mac Donald as the Santa Barbara Martial Arts Academy, the school draws its name from Norse mythology. Mac Donald began his martial arts training at age 9, relocated to Santa Barbara in 1990 to study psychology and law, and transitioned to professional fighting in 1994 before opening the academy. Mac Donald oversees training alongside coach Megan, delivering structured striking and grappling instruction. Class programming includes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Combat SAMBO blending wrestling with judo throws, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and physical conditioning.
