Vanguard Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Vanguard BJJ is located at 5258 Plainfield Ave NE Ste B & C in Grand Rapids, MI 49525. The martial arts academy provides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction for youth and adult students across the Grand Rapids area. Instruction on the mats is guided by Roy Shaw, who serves as a black belt professor. Having studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2008, Professor Roy was awarded his black belt from Professor Mike Ross, a 3rd-degree black belt. Teaching focuses on personal growth, self defense, and physical fitness. Class offerings include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi sessions, youth programs, and family training. Scheduled options include the BJJ Dino's group for ages 5-9 meeting from 2:00-3:00PM during the school year, alongside the BJJ Foundations Program Family Class for age 10-Adult from 3:30-5PM. The first class is always free, and training operates with no contracts or cancellation fees.
