World of Self-Defense - Combat Jujitsu operates at 5406 43rd Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55417, situated in South Minneapolis near the VA Hospital. The martial arts academy was founded by James Bob Easom, who taught naval personnel and civilians before establishing a permanent location on Minnehaha Ave by 1968. Leadership later transitioned to Ron Peterson, and the school is now run by Steve Peterson, who serves as Owner and head instructor with more than 30 years in the head instructor role. Training programs focus on practical Ju-Jitsu and Kosen Ju-Jitsu traditions. Adult classes are scheduled on Monday from noon to 1pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7pm to 8pm, Thursday from noon to 1pm and 7pm to 8pm, and Saturday from 2pm to 3pm. Youth classes accommodate boys and girls from 5 to 15 on Saturdays from 12:30 to 1:30pm at youth class rates of $40/month.
