York Mixed Martial Arts Academy delivers combat sports and martial arts education in Shiloh Village Plaza in York, Pennsylvania. The academy provides technical instruction in ground grappling, stand-up striking, and mixed martial arts. The instructional program is directed by academy president and lead instructor George McGinnis, who holds black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo alongside a Level III instructor certification in Muay Thai under Kru Jose Villarisco. Coaching is assisted by academy manager Chip Sargent, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt, and grappling coach Micah Yohe. Academy coursework features adult gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, morning no-gi jiu-jitsu, Judo throws and pins, Muay Thai striking combinations, and mixed martial arts conditioning. Youth programming serves students beginning at age 8, including kids grappling for ages 8 to 11 and junior jiu-jitsu for ages 12 to 14. Weekend open mat sessions provide students time for sparring and technique review.
