Alexandre Molinaro is the founder and head instructor of Molinaro Jiu-Jitsu in Chicago, which he established in 2023. A Brazilian-born Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, he discovered the sport at age 13 in Rio de Janeiro after trying swimming and judo, and was drawn to its technical, strategic nature. He progressed through the belts while building a competition career and earned his black belt in 2017 under coach André "Alemão" Vasconcelos. Known as Alex at the academy, he draws on years of competition and coaching experience, focusing his teaching on high-level technique, strong fundamentals and a supportive team environment; the academy grew out of his aim to build a place where others could experience the benefits of the sport.
