Andre Gomes is the professor, owner, and head coach at Carlson Gracie Lewisville. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, he began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2002 at the age of 14 and holds a third-degree black belt in the Carlson Gracie lineage, which the academy traces through Otávio "Peixotinho" and Álvaro Gonçalves "Ganso". He spent four years in Dubai coaching the United Arab Emirates Army, moved to the United States in 2018 to continue competing and teaching, and in 2021 opened his own academy in Texas with his partner, Gary. A heavyweight competitor whose favorite technique is the wristlock, he remains active on the tournament circuit: he is a two-time F2W champion and has won gold at the IBJJF Dallas International Open and the Houston International Open.
