Bruce Hoyer coaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, Muay Thai and MMA at Next Edge Academy in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he teaches the adult gi, teen and beginner BJJ classes as well as MMA and boxing sessions. He is a third-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Rodrigo "Comprido" Medeiros and is described by the academy as the highest-ranking BJJ black belt in South Dakota. As a competitor, Hoyer was a two-time World Championship medalist in the gi at blue and purple belt and a no-gi World Champion at purple belt; he has entered more than 90 tournaments and medaled in over 100 divisions. Beyond jiu-jitsu he is a Gold Level USA Boxing coach and holds a second-degree black belt in Combat Hapkido.
