Damien Cordova is the founder of Chroma Jiu Jitsu in Lafayette, Colorado, which he opened after moving back to the state. He began his martial arts journey in 2010 at Dark Horse Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Longmont, Colorado, and in 2015 relocated to Hiroshima, Japan, to study under Yoshihiro Fujita, who awarded him his black belt in 2022. Cordova has taught and coached students of all ages and levels for many years. While the physical side of Jiu Jitsu first drew him in, he credits its connection to everyday life, and the way it teaches people to respond to pressure rationally rather than emotionally, as the reason he continues to train and share the art. He opened Chroma with the goal of using Jiu Jitsu to help people develop as whole individuals.
