Professor Daryl "Preacher" Rodriguez is the founder and head professor of Trinity Jiu Jitsu, where he is the main instructor for both the adult and kids classes. He holds a third-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Andre "Tim" Monteiro of the A-Force Association, whose lineage runs through Carlson Gracie via Francisco "Toco" and Rodrigo Medeiros; Monteiro awarded him his black belt on May 23, 2017. Rodriguez was introduced to jiu-jitsu in 2002 through the Kenseido curriculum, in which he holds a brown belt, and in 2004 began training BJJ exclusively under Karun Fiederer. He has more than 24 years of grappling experience and over 18 years teaching gi and no-gi, has competed and medaled in events up to the Master Worlds, and has promoted students of his own to black belt. Outside the academy he holds a Doctorate of Ministry and teaches for Liberty University Online.
