Master Dulciney Matos leads Gracie Humaita Corpus Christi together with his son, Professor João Matos. Born in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at age 12 and earned his black belt in 1985. In 2019 he was awarded his red-and-black belt, at 7th degree, under the mentorship of Masters Royler Gracie and Rolker Gracie in San Diego, California. Matos moved to the United States with his family in 2016 to fulfil his dream of opening a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school in Texas, and soon opened Gracie Humaita Corpus Christi alongside his son. His competition record includes two IBJJF World Masters titles, two IBJJF Pan-American titles, an IBJJF Brazilian National championship, an IBJJF International Masters championship and a Rio de Janeiro state championship.
