Eduardo Dias is the Head Coach of Garra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Brisbane and a fifth degree black belt, based at the Kelvin Grove academy. He has awarded black belts to instructors on the team, including Michael Pegg in 2018. Dias created the academy's BJJ Mindset and Development class, a session for students aged 13 and over that uses drills, positional constraints and guided scenarios to push practitioners beyond automatic patterns and into strategy and game development. He says there are many paths into Jiu-Jitsu, whether competition, fitness, weight loss or personal growth, and that his aim is an environment where students lift one another up, because in Jiu-Jitsu no one succeeds alone.
