Ezekiel Zayas is a 2nd degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt associated with Nexus Fighter Academy in Hamburg. In 2015 he founded the Ganbaru Team together with black belt Ana Yagües, an association of several BJJ schools set up to support smaller academies with their sporting development and administration while staying as apolitical as possible. Zayas also teaches outside regular classes. As part of the academy's 24-hour Grapplethon against gender-based violence he led a free self-defence seminar for women and girls aged 13 and up, open to participants with no prior experience. The academy's team photos include training sessions with him in Pampau in 2016.
