Fabio Trindade is the head instructor at Gracie Barra Studio City and a 4th degree black belt. Born in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, he has over 27 years in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, including 20 years as a black belt spent both competing and teaching. He began at Monteiro Jiu-Jitsu, where he trained from white belt to black belt under the Monteiro Brothers, Fábio, Guto, Yano and Lucio. His competition titles include seven Amazonas state championships, three Brazilian national championships, a South American championship, three world championships and two American championships, plus three state No-Gi titles. Outside Jiu-Jitsu he won his Muay Thai debut and compiled an MMA record of 5 wins, 4 losses and 1 no contest. His teaching emphasizes technical excellence, conceptual understanding, adaptability, respect and mental toughness.
