Heidi Garwood is a co-owner and professor at Carlson Gracie Green Valley in Henderson, Nevada, which she opened in 2022 with her family. Originally from Billings, Montana, she began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2012 and built her early competitive experience at tournaments across the Northwest before moving to Henderson in 2019, where she continued competing in IBJJF events. She holds a first-degree Carlson Gracie black belt under Romulo Caiado of Carlson Gracie Henderson and focuses much of her teaching on women and children. Garwood is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Dynamic Counseling Whole Body Wellness, with an interest in how jiu-jitsu supports mental as well as physical health. Her results include IBJJF Masters Worlds bronze in 2019, silver at the 2022 Masters Worlds and Pan Ams, No-Gi Worlds bronze in 2023, the 2024 American Nationals no-gi title, and the 2025 European and World No-Gi Masters championships.
