Professor Heitor Senra is the head of Traktion Jiu Jitsu Academy, which he built together with his wife, Chloe, after 14 years of training and developing his teaching method. He started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at 12 in a small gym in Grajaú, Rio de Janeiro, under his father and first coach, David Senra, and competed nearly every weekend around Rio and across Brazil as a kid. When his father moved abroad, Senra stayed in Brazil and continued under Professor Leandro "Tatu" Escobar. At 20 he moved to the United States, living inside the academy for almost two years, and over his career became a two-time Pan American Champion, American Champion and European Champion. He says his own upbringing as a young athlete shapes how he teaches children today.
