Jamir Uchoa Toledo
Jamir Toledo has coached at Corse Combat in Furiani, near Bastia, since April 2021 and holds a fourth-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, he started martial arts at five, training judo, kickboxing, luta livre, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai and MMA at some of the city's leading schools. In 2009 he coached the Chute Boxe team in jiu-jitsu, and in 2012 he moved to the United States, where he taught BJJ and MMA, fought as a professional and trained with Team Alpha Male. A professional MMA fighter, Toledo won the Copa Stone No-Gi in Rio de Janeiro in 2005 and the 2011 Paranaense championship at black belt lightweight. He holds federal coaching certificates in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA, and with his wife Julie Cancelloni Toledo, whom he met in California, he teaches children and adults at the club they founded.
