Jerardo "Jerry" Linares is a second-degree black belt and one of the founders of Ethos Jiu-Jitsu in Fullerton, where he teaches. He has trained Jiu-Jitsu for more than 20 years, having first encountered it at San Diego State University, where he joined the college jiu-jitsu club while studying Business Finance. His lineage runs from Helio Gracie through Royler Gracie of Gracie Humaita, Cleber Luciano, and William Tetsch of Leon Jiu Jitsu. A soccer player for many years before Jiu-Jitsu, he remains an active competitor and is focused on coaching his students to become better people through the art. Off the mat he works as a real estate broker at Millenia Real Estate, a company he founded, and spends time with his wife Kimberly cycling along the LA River, camping, and hiking.
