Leticia Ribeiro is a co-founder and head coach of Gracie South Bay, which she opened with UFC veteran Fabricio Camoes; both are black belts under Master Royler Gracie. She began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 1995 at age 15 at the Gracie Tijuca Academy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, under Marcelo Machado and Arthur Carthiar, and later trained with Royler Gracie, Vinicius Aieta and Saulo Ribeiro within the Gracie Humaitá team. Her competition record includes nine IBJJF World Championships, four Pan American titles, five Brazilian Nationals titles and an ADCC championship, and she was inducted into the IBJJF Hall of Fame in 2012. As a coach she has developed a number of successful athletes, among them Beatriz Mesquita, whom she promoted to black belt, and she is recognized for her work promoting women's participation in the sport.
