Lucas Giovani Garibaldi
Lucas Garibaldi is the head coach and founder of Grappling University (GU BJJ) in Tallaght, South Dublin, which he opened in 2022. He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt from the B9 / Marco Barbosa lineage. Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, he started training at 16 and progressed from white belt to black belt under Marco Barbosa, leader of the Barbosa Jiu Jitsu Team, at the same academy that produced Murilo Santana, Luiz Panza and Adriano Silva. Garibaldi leads the adults programme at GU BJJ and also supports the Little Grapplers class for 4-7 year olds. His coaching prioritises real understanding and modern methods, including the Constraint Led Approach, over passive drilling, in both gi and no-gi.
