Professor Marco Oliveira is the head instructor of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at MYBJJ Academy and one of the co-founders of its Kota Damansara school. He is a fourth-degree black belt and is currently based in Australia. The academy credits him with decades of mat experience and both competition and teaching knowledge. He remains an active international competitor and medallist, most recently taking silver in the black belt division at the AJP Bangkok Championship. Oliveira is also a certified Continental B referee under the Malaysia Jiu Jitsu Federation. Several of the academy's coaches came up under him: Azrai Hafeez received his black belt from Oliveira in 2025, and Nurul, who assists with the kids and women's programmes, began her training with him.
