Michael Robert Katilus

Michael Katilus is the owner and head Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach at Lake Effect Martial Arts in the Buffalo area, where he carries the title of Head Professor. A working professional in Western New York, Katilus runs the academy as a passion project outside of his daily career, with the stated aim of doing things for the right reasons and for the positive development of his students. He leads a coaching staff that includes more than six jiu jitsu black belts, among them police officers, university professors, a chef and a military airplane mechanic, and the school says it has more BJJ black belts in house than any other in WNY.
