Detailed Description

David Onuma is the head instructor and program director of the North 12 martial arts academy in North Finchley, north London. A lifelong martial artist, he holds black belt or instructor credentials in seven styles, among them Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Filipino martial arts, Jeet Kune Do, kickboxing, Maphilindo Silat and Combat Submission Wrestling. Onuma received his BJJ black belt under Ricardo Vieira in 2010, is now a 4th degree black belt and the UK representative of Mestre Ricardo De La Riva, and is an IBJJF-certified black belt and referee. His competition record includes the 2025 IBJJF World Masters title, the 2025 European International Masters title, the 2024 IBJJF European No-Gi title and eight IBJJF European championships. As a coach his students have become World, European and British champions in several arts.
