Detailed Description

Nakapan Phungephorn founded the Academy for Body Efficient Tactical Arts (BETA Academy) in 2009 and has more than 30 years of experience practicing, teaching and competing in martial arts. He began in 1993 with Shaolin Kung Fu while recovering from Lyme disease, going on to win over 50 championship titles in the traditional fighting arts before turning to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. He received his BJJ black belt under Pedro Sauer in 2003 and is now a 4th degree black belt under Leo Dalla; he also holds a judo black belt under Chris Round, a Kru certification from the World Thai Boxing Association and a brown belt in Kudo. His competition record includes a 6-2 MMA record, two ADCC New Jersey Open titles, the 2025 US National and US Open judo championships, and IBJJF masters gold medals including the 2025 Pan American and 2016 No-Gi World championships.
