Rodrigo Alves is the Head Coach of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programme at Brave Martial Arts Institute. Originally from Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil, he has practised the sport for more than 20 years and has taught since 2012. He received his black belt in 2013 and now holds the rank of third degree black belt, awarded under Adriano Ribeiro Pires, a sixth degree black belt of the Alliance Jiu-Jitsu team, and he is recognised by the IBJJF. Over his career he has competed extensively, with titles and podium finishes at regional, national and international events. His coaching emphasises technical excellence and discipline, with the aim of building an environment where martial arts serve as a tool for personal development, character building and lifelong learning.
