Rodrigo Freitas is the founder and head coach of Inspirit Jiu Jitsu in Redondo Beach, California, and a 4th degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, he began training in 1997 and earned his black belt in 2007 under Master Aldo "Caveirinha" Januário. Freitas moved to the United States to help expand Gracie Barra before building his own academy in 2015. A seasoned competitor, he now leads Inspirit with a focus on high-level training, a strong community and a family-first culture on and off the mats, an approach he sums up as Jiu-Jitsu and life moving in the same rhythm, one lesson at a time.
