Sean Christopher Stewart

Sean Stewart is the head instructor at Colorado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Satori (CBJJS), where he holds an IBJJF-certified third-degree black belt. He began training in 2004 under David Ruiz, the academy's founder, and his lineage runs from Rigan Machado through Ruiz. Ruiz taught him not only the techniques of the art but also how to teach it. Stewart has a long competition record at black belt, including a gold medal at the 2018 IBJJF Denver International Open, silver at the 2018 and 2023 IBJJF No-Gi World Championships, and a Fight To Win Pro 18 superfight victory in 2016. Earlier results include a 2012 NAGA Colorado no-gi title in the expert division and a silver medal in the absolute division at the 2011 IBJJF Pan Championship as a brown belt. Outside the mats he is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Chicago Law School.
