Vasile Ciocoiu

Victor Ciocoiu is the owner and head instructor of Kogaion Academy in Arlington, Virginia, where he teaches both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and judo. He holds a third-degree BJJ black belt and a sandan (third-degree) black belt in judo, and was an IBJJF No-Gi World medalist in 2011. His jiu-jitsu lineage runs through Leo Dalla and Jorge Pereira back to Rickson Gracie, and his judo lineage descends from Jigoro Kano through Romanian coaches including Constantin Ciobanu. Ciocoiu has trained judo since he was nine years old and is an internationally certified judo coach, a credential the academy notes only around 60 people in the United States hold. He leads the academy's judo program, which centers on throwing, control and movement.
