William J. Schwartz

Bill Schwartz is the owner and an instructor at Clever Combat Jiu-Jitsu & MMA, which he founded in 2017 with four friends who have trained together for 20 years. He grew up in Oneonta, New York, as a standout athlete and lifelong martial artist, and after exploring traditional styles began Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2003 with Victor Mcleod. He earned his black belt from Julio Ceaser Fernandez Nunes during a training camp in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Earlier in his career he taught English and special education while running an after-school Jiu-Jitsu program and coaching basketball for at-risk youth, and he holds that money and physical ability should never be barriers to training. His instruction stresses technique and building a complete game.
