Baltimore Martial Arts Academy

Baltimore Martial Arts Academy delivers diverse martial arts education, fitness programming, and combat sports instruction at 6565 Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville, Maryland. Founded in November 1994, the academy initially operated inside the Baltimore Judo Club before expanding into an independent multi-discipline training facility serving practitioners throughout Catonsville and the greater Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. The academy was established and is directed by owner Gary Berger. The academy features an instructional staff of twenty primary instructors who bring extensive collective experience across their respective disciplines, including Gary Berger, Danyelle Berger, Denilson Pimenta, and Jeff Mims. Coaches emphasize a relaxed, respectful, and safe training environment that rejects harsh egos while encouraging consistent technical development, discipline, and personal self-confidence for both youth and adult students. Instructional programming spans nineteen distinct offerings, including Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo for children ages 4 and up, adult and youth Kung Fu, Arnis, and kickboxing fitness. Classes are scheduled seven days a week to accommodate busy routines. Prospective practitioners can experience the academy through a complimentary trial class.
