Gary Berger is the owner and founder of the Baltimore Martial Arts Academy, which he established in November 1994. In its early years his dojo was housed inside the Baltimore Judo Club in Catonsville, Maryland, where he taught adult classes in Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Arnis and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu as well as children's Kung Fu. Over time Berger met other professional martial artists with specialties of their own and invited many of them to join the academy as full-time and part-time instructors. The school he built now offers 19 programs with 20 primary instructors and numerous assistants, and he continues to run the facility, Baltimore Martial Arts and Fitness in Catonsville, giving walk-through tours of it himself.
