EXCEL Jiu Jitsu MMA & Fitness operates at 4093 Oceanside Blvd # D in Oceanside, California. The martial arts academy provides training across adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kids martial arts, mixed martial arts, and boxing and kickboxing classes. The academy is owned and directed by head professor Michio Grubbs, an IBJJF certified 4th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with more than 20 years of coaching experience in fitness and combat sports. Grubbs began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey under Roy Harris in 1999 and was awarded his black belt under Chris Haueter in 2009. A former IFBB professional bodybuilder from 1994 to 1998, Grubbs also won his division as an athlete at the 2012 IBJJF Masters tournament. Programs accommodate practitioners of all backgrounds, offering adult gi and no-gi jiu-jitsu sessions, youth martial arts classes, and striking workouts focused on boxing and kickboxing. Training develops practical self-defense, ground control, and cardiovascular endurance. New students can register for a complimentary three-day trial class directly through the academy website.
