Mid Missouri Judo

Mid Missouri Judo operates at 4250 East Broadway, Suite 1015 in Columbia, Missouri. The traditional judo dojo is affiliated with USA Judo to maintain national standards and sanctioned athlete insurance. Instruction is led by seventh-degree black belt (7th Dan) Randy Russell and fifth-degree black belt (5th Dan) Glenn St. John, supported by first-degree black belt (Shodan) instructors Steve O'Rourke and Joseph Cooney alongside assistant coach Jakub Sarnecki. The curriculum provides classical judo training for practitioners of all experience levels. Adult and teen classes focus on sport judo, conditioning, and practical self-defense, balancing standing throws (tachi-waza) with ground grappling and pinning controls (ne-waza). The youth program introduces children ages five through fifteen to basic throws and hold-downs while omitting submission chokes and joint locks for students under thirteen. Additional schedule offerings include family judo sessions, informal open mat training with video camera review, and private instruction.
