Real American Grappling is located at 3415 Westinghouse Boulevard Suite 10 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Formerly known as Checkmat Charlotte, the training center serves grappling students from Charlotte, Steele Creek, and Fort Mill with structured martial arts instruction. The academy was founded and is directed by head instructor Michael Allen, a third-degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. Allen leads a coaching staff that includes black belt instructors Dan and Jillian Schnitzler, alongside wrestling coach Pierre Pryor. Coaches emphasize positional control, high-percentage submissions, situational escapes, and wrestling takedown integration. Instructional programs are structured to accommodate students of all experience levels, featuring Kids Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Women's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The training curriculum focuses on physical conditioning, technical leverage, and practical self-defense tactics for novice practitioners and competitive grapplers alike.
