Over his career, he served as an IBJJF referee in Europe and the USA for 16 years and aided in establishing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools across the country. Gomes' competitive background encompasses three World Championship medals, Pan American Champion titles in 2015 and 2016, European Championship honors in Portugal, and multiple IBJJF gold medals.
