The MMA LAB

Founded in 2007 in Phoenix, Arizona, in zip code 85053, The MMA Lab operates as a dedicated combat sports and athletic training academy. In 2018, the gym upgraded its facility alongside former UFC and WEC lightweight world champion Ben Henderson and head coach John Crouch. Instruction is directed by head jiu-jitsu instructor and MMA coach John Crouch, a third-degree black belt under Royce Gracie. The coaching staff also includes head striking coach Rob Emerson and strength and conditioning coach Jarret Aki, delivering technical coaching across grappling, stand-up striking, and physical preparation. Class programming provides Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, striking, and women-only jiu-jitsu, with youth classes designed to build discipline, self-defense fundamentals, and athletic coordination. The academy also offers a dedicated Kids Corner for childcare during training hours, with introductory classes and private lessons available.
